Knee Arthritis?
for the past 6 months that i can remeber my right knee has been swollen and i've been unable to do stranious activity and here recently it's been hurting worse and becoming stiffer. the pain stays around the right side of my knee cap and the back where i believe the tendons are....i'm not sure what i did to cause this and im not sure if how long it has actually been...i've tryed aspercream and other pain relievers for joints and have also bought a knee brace hoping to cause less strain...i've even used ice packs to keep the swelling down but they dont work long...im 17 yrs old and i dont have insurance and recently moved out of my parents home. I've been tryin to drop weight hopin to help relieve some of the pain...i realize that i'm about 20 lbs over weight for my height but for my build i'm only 10...i'm not sure what else to say but...i need help. Please?
You may have the same problem I have. I have a disease known as Osgood-Schlatters Disease. I have the exact same problem. I have been to the doctor about it. It is something you can inherit from somewhere in your family. It cannot be healed. You just learn to live with it. It gets better over time. My mother is 37 and still has it from when she was 14. She says as you get older the less painful it becomes.
Osgood Schlatters disease is a very common cause of knee pain in everyone. It is a condition where the bony protrusion below the knee (called the tibial tuberosity or tubercle) becomes inflamed, painful and swollen.
I hope this helped! Get well Soon.
